Cranberry Orange “Ice Cream”

Recipe: Cranberry Orange “Ice Cream”

This cranberry orange “ice cream” is made completely out of fruit, so it is low in calories and high in nutrients. The orange juice provides vitamin C, a powerful beauty nutrient that has been associated with fewer wrinkles. The cranberries are rich in anti-aging antioxidants and the bananas are a great source of potassium, which can help combat water retention by balancing the ratio of sodium and potassium in the body.

This refreshing treat has a similar texture to soft-serve ice cream. You can put it in the freezer if you prefer a firmer texture.

Ingredients:

3 large bananas, cut into bite-size pieces and frozen

1 cup frozen cranberries

1⁄2 cup orange juice

1 tablespoon orange zest

Instructions:

In a food processor, combine all ingredients and blend until smooth. Add more orange juice if needed to create a smooth consistency. Eat immediately or freeze for half an hour for a firmer ice cream.
